Raffaella Bellanca has a MSc in environmental physics from the University of Milan, a PhD in combustion physics from the University of Lund and a Masters degree in communication and development studies from the University of Malmoe. Dr. Bellanca has worked as research engineer (15+ years) in the simulation of combustion processes for energy producers and the engine industry in both academic and private institutions. She has extensive experience in the development of scientific software and human-computer interfaces. Dr. Bellanca has also been an entrepreneur, and she worked as a CEO in a high-tech university spin-off company based in Sweden with international operations. She has also worked in Haiti as volunteer with the implementation and evaluation of development projects in the field of renewable energy and reforestation. Dr. Bellanca is fluent in Italian, English, Swedish and French.
