Karabi Dutta

Dr. Karabi Dutta is working with Appropriate Rural Technology Institute (ARTI- http://www.arti-india.org/). ARTI is a not for profit organization in India which has been working in the field of sustainable rural technologies for the past 20 years. As a part of its renewable energy activities, ARTI provides training in manufacturing improved stoves developed by them to entrepreneurs, promotes their use, and also distributes these energy efficient wood,saw dust, charcoal briquette stoves and biogas stoves to remote rural communities and peri urban communities under various projects. Dr Dutta holds a PhD in Microbiology and heads the stove testing and household energy and health department of ARTI. She has over 8 years of experience in project development, planning, resource assessment, community level decision making in monitoring and evaluation of indoor air pollution and health. She and her team members have worked extensively in rural India and also in other Asian countries. The team also provides training to NGO’s and private organizations.
