Eco Ltd prepared a project brief for a medium scale project (MSP) for GTZ-ProBEC for submission to UNDP-GEF. The project aims to "Remove barriers to Biomass Energy Conservation in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and institutions in the Southern African Development Community (SADC)". Eco provided leadership in country data collection in Lesotho, Namibia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe and provided back-stopping for local consultants who collected data in Mozambique and South Africa. Eco developed strategies for the implementation of the GEF project and undertook "buy-in" negotiations with the key stakeholders of the various countries involved. In developing the project brief, Eco Ltd consolidated the needs of co-financers such as BMZ, DGIS and the EU as well as the participating countries, to come up with a win-win solution for the both project beneficiaries and benefactors.
